IRISH LANDSCAPE AND WILDLIFE
Going to extremes for spectacular footage applies as much at home as it does in far off exotic locations. Having produced a number of Irish wildife, travel and mountaineering series, Crossing the Line Films has an extensive collection of footage from the wildest and most beautiful places in Ireland. This collection includes spectacular aerials of the Irish mountains and coastline, a wide array of sites of archaeological interest from Neolithic passage tombs to monastic beehive huts and remarkable images of Irish nature and wildlife. This collection is truly spectacular and contains some of the most beautiful footage and time-lapses of the Irish landscape. Timecoded VHS compilations of Irish landscape footage are available. All material originated on 16x9 Digibeta or HD CAM.

POLAR COLLECTION
Our Polar collection ranges from the icy landscapes of Antarctica to the vast tundra expanses of North Siberia and the uncharted channels of the Northwest passage. It includes footage of icebergs, Greenland, Icebreakers, Northwest passage, Northeast passage, Arctic Canada and Ellesmere Island. This collection spans different seasons and includes wildlife footage from the Arctic and Antarctic such as polar bears, wolves, penguins, Elephant seals and albatross, spectacular aerials of the ice caps and icebergs and in-depth portrayals of the life of some of the native people of the Arctic (in particular Nenet reindeer herders of Northern Siberia and Inuit hunters of Northern Canada). We also own a very extensive collection of old archive film and photographs of the early days of Arctic and Antarctic exploration. Footage shot on Digibeta 16x9 or HD CAM.

MOUNTAINEERING COLLECTION
Crossing the Line Films has a vast collection of Mountaineering footage with incredible scenes from the Andes to the Alps and the Himalayas. This collection includes footage from Everest, Paldor, the Eiger, Mount Kenya, South Georgia, Yosemite, Yellowstone, Rwanda, Iran, Niger, Scotland and just about every mountain and hill in Ireland.

DESERT COLLECTION
Our Desert Collection comprises footage from the Atacama desert, the dazzling salt flats of the Salar de Uyuni and a large collection of footage from the Sahara. This includes Tuareg camel caravans crossing the classic Saharan dune landscape, ancient Oasis towns built of sand and mud and market scenes from a variety of villages fringing the great Saharan desert.

TROPICAL COLLECTION
From the rainforests of Indonesia to the cloud forests of Rwanda and the tributaries of the Amazon, our Tropical Collection is rich, vibrant and very colourful. It includes interviews with the Huitoto tribe, meetings with Koona Indians, a variety of wildlife footage ranging from wild Bengal Tigers to large silverback Mountain Gorillas and a variety of footage from around the Caribbean, Central and South America, Africa, India and Southeast Asia.

MARITIME COLLECTION
Travelling to some of the more remote and inaccessible parts of our planet has often involved expeditions by boat. From the 1997 South Aris expedition sailing a small open boat from Elephant Island across the Southern Ocean to South Georgia to the 2003-2005 Northabout circumpolar expedition through the Northwest Passage and Northeast passage, Crossing the Line Films has amassed a huge collection Maritime Archive. This collection comprises dramatic footage from around the Irish coast, Greenland, Canada, Russia, Scandinavia, the Caribbean and the Southern Ocean including violent storms at sea and magnificent icebergs. This maritime collection also includes a variety of early 20th century footage of whaling, tall ships and WW1 battlecruisers and U-boats.

OLD ARCHIVE
Crossing the Line Films owns a large collection of old archive films from around the world dating back to the early 20th century. These include:

* WW1 footage including trenches, battlefields, Military parades, British navy and German U-boats.
* Footage of early Arctic and Antarctic exploration, including the film of Shackleton's 'Quest' expedition.
* Whalers and whaling footage from the 1920's
* The1916 rising and the Irish civil war, including the shelling of the Four Courts
* Rural and urban footage of Ireland in the 1930's/40's/50's.

Keeping ahead of the game has meant regularly upgrading our camera kit so we are filming at all times with some of the latest and most advanced video formats available. In 1997 we were the first Irish production company to change over to Digital Betacam Widescreen and again were the first to make the leap to High Definition in 2004.
